In 1972, Bishop Remi De Roo asked the Benedictines to return to Vancouver Island so that their spirituality may be shared with the people in the area." Key to that spirituality is the daily prayer of the liturgy of the hours as well as offering spiritual guidance to those who request it.
Gifts and donations to the House of Bread Monastery are used to support the monastic community and its various ministries. As a charity, in addition to our gratitude, we can offer a tax receipt for your donation. The community welcomes and is grateful for rememberance in wills and bequests.
